What is Local Hack Day: Build 2022?
Local Hack Day: Build is your opportunity to spend a week focused on creating and developing the projects you’ve always wanted to tackle. In accepting this quest, you are in for an adventure featuring workshops, fun mini-events, challenges, panels, and more. These will help you to earn experience points no matter what level of hacking you are at, whether it’s writing your first lines of code or creating a multi-faceted project.
We will be bringing back all of your favorite features from Local Hack Day Learn, Build, and Share 2021 like challenges, live technical sessions with MLHers, mini-events galore, and some cool content from our partners! Here’s a sneak peek:

What is a Guild? How can I be a part of it?
One of the best parts of our community is that it allows people to meet and make connections with others, regardless of where you live. guilds are smaller communities within Major League Hacking. Whether you come in with a guild or not, you won’t be hacking alone.
Who organized Local Hack Day?
Local Hack Day is organized by Major League Hacking (MLH). It is our mission to empower hackers worldwide by providing them with the tools, resources, and opportunities they need to succeed.
Requirements
Your challenge submission must be completed within the submission period.
When relevent, your code must be available in some sort of public repository.
If you're continuing work on an old project, you MUST specify in your Devpost what was worked on 1) before this day one of Local Hack Day: Build 2022 and 2) during day day of Local Hack Day: Build 2022.

New year, new hack! Was your New Year's resolution to hack more? If so, you’re already on the right track. No matter what your resolutions are, we want create a project that can help you achieve them.
Build a project that uses a data set
Why not take a break from your Data Day Grind? To get started, check out these public data sets. Your project doesn’t need to be complex - we just want you to try working with data!

Incorporating Natural Language Processing into a project adds a great level of sophistication. Think about how this could improve user input, analyze comments, or scrape twitter.

Write a script to reverse a string
Reverse, reverse! Find a way to take a string and turn it around backwards. Show off your backwards hack on the Day 2 Devpost.

Rock, paper, scissors, shoot! Create a bot to play this classic game with you. Submit on Devpost!
Build a Business Plan
Have you ever wanted to turn one of your projects into a startup? Create a business plan - it could be for a project you’ve made, something you’ve dreamt up, or even a product that already exists. The goal of this is to take some time to think about how you would share a product with the world. Consider including a market analysis, financial projections, and management plans and submit on our Day 2 Devpost.
Build a Habit Tracker
Per the suggestion of a community member, we want you to build a habit tracker! As the new year kicks off, create a way to keep track of all the habits you want to form.
Host a static website using Linode object storage
Storage buckets aren’t just a great way to store your data in the cloud, you can also use them as a simple solution to hosting your content on the internet! The Intro to Web Dev (IWD) experience [https://hackp.ac/lhdbuild-github-pack] provides you with a ton of useful resources for your next hack! Build something amazing with any of the tools provided and upload your project URL to GitHub's student gallery [https://hackp.ac/lhdbuild-github-form]. Remember to submit your project to our day-of Devpost as well!
